That way, if something breaks, you’ll be able to follow up with the company or contractor that did the repairs.
2. Check for Signs of Damage in the Kitchen and Bathroom
Water damage can cause significant problems down the line, and the most common areas for this are the kitchen and the bathroom. Turn on the faucets, checking for leaks and sprays, and ensure that the toilets in the bathroom are functioning properly. Check out the hot water. Turn the appliances in the kitchen on and off.
3. Electrical Systems are Go
You’ll want to take a look at the electrical system in the prospective home. Walk over to the circuit breaker to see if it is clean and working. Take your phone charging block and plug it into all of the outlets in the home to make sure they all work. If they don’t work, you can get the problem sorted out before closing.
4. General Sale Item Checklist
Grab the sales agreement and take it with you to the walkthrough. Ensure that all items that are conveyed with the sale are accounted for to ensure that all unwanted items have been removed. Also, check that all garbage and any construction debris from repairs have been removed from the property and that it is clean and damage-free.
